May the Winds Erode the Horrors of Today

Wild. Chaotic frenzy.

30mph winds in the desert.

Yet I sit still, reflecting on a world gone mad.

Anger. Apathy. Desperation. Distrust.

How long can we go on turning a blind eye?

While wild untamed beasts bind the lower self. Committing crimes. Penetrating our hearts.

Tears of blood overflowing tributaries.

All in the name of greed.

Nothing is real. Tangible. Reliable. Longstanding.

We must come together.

Deny the division.

We’ve never been more connected across the world than we are today. Instantaneous connections. Yet we are regulated. Mediated. Fractured. The algorithm is controlled. What we see is selected for us. How much we say is limited by how agreeable they want the message to be.

The horrors of today. Adrenal fatigue. Fight or flight. For some, captivity.

I have withdrawn from civilization to the fringe of society.

My nervous system has been repaired in the last 5 months through meditation, prayer, heat, and stillness.

Nerves. Blood. Bones.
A quiet surrender. A luxury I’ve afforded myself at the cost of modern comforts. The cost of living is surviving the elements day-to-day. That is what is real for me. Sun. Wind. Water. Everyday is different. The challenges of one day do not reflect the next. Yet lessons are earned.

Isolated circumspection.

Yet I tap into the collective every time I listen to the radio, every time I open social media, every time I open an email. I open myself to the horrors of today.

May these winds whisking around me take them away. Dislodge and loosen the shallow, fleeting morals of those creating the horrors of today.

Dislodge it. Erode it. Carry it away.

Far, far away until there is nothing left.

Only fertile soil.

Ready for new seeds to be planted.

Because when deep roots take hold to the soil, they can withstand the forces of the wind.
